Compared to the time when I was a high school student, more and more high school students are thinking about studying overseas for their tertiary education. It is a wonderful thing but the information available for them, with regards to studying overseas, is still small and I believe it is important for me to share my experience with young students to help them making their dreams come true.
My experience at a University in New Zealand is very unique because as far as I understood, there are few Japanese students went straight to an oversea University to study a scientific degree after finishing a Japanese high school.
Thus, I was honoured to be able to share my experience at Lincoln University with local high school students, from Sapporo Kaisei High School. I mainly talked about what I have been thinking and doing when I was a high school student to prepare for studying in New Zealand. I was impressed by the fact that so many students wanted to ask me questions. Also, I enjoyed feeling that they had such a pure heart and they had so many wonderful dream. I hope that my talk at least help them a little bit to make their dreams come true. The teacher who invited me to talk was also very nice and we hope to continue having a good relationship with this high school.
