新年度【New fiscal year】

今年度も始まってしまいましたね。気を引き締めてしっかりやります。今年は（も）、新たな年です。いろいろなことが始まっています。今日は食資源学院の入学式（第一回！）がありますし、ザンビアのプロジェクトも新たな展開を迎えることでしょう。他にもいろいろと新しいことに挑戦できればいいな、と考えています。学部生の授業もたくさん担当することになっています。新しい生徒に会えるのが楽しみです。北海道大学に来て、５年度目が終わり、今度から６年度目、ということになるわけです。時の経つのは本当に早いですね。最近、昔の写真を見ると若かったなぁとしみじみ思いますし、人にもそう言われます（つまり老けたということ、、、）。貫禄が出てきた、といいように捉えてポジティブにいきます。

ポジティブ、という要素、私は昔からわりとあったような気がします。どうにかなるのではないか、という気持ちです。そういう気持ちがないと高卒で海外に行ったりなかなか出来ないのではないでしょうか。どうやったら身につくのか、と言われても難しいのですが、やっぱり自分の人生を振り返ったときに、いろいろと自分で考えて悩みながら決断したな、人に流されなかったな、と感じたいなぁという漠然とした考えを持っていたことが良かったのかもしれません。写真は最近行った中川町。

A new fiscal year has started. I will continue doing my best. Many new things are starting already. Today is the first school entrance ceremony for the Graduate School of Global Food Resources. The project in Zambia will also have some new developments. I want to continue challenging towards new things. Many undergraduate lectures are also coming up. I am looking forward to meeting them.

It had been five fiscal years since I was appointed here. This year is the 6th. Time flies. Looking at the photos being taken a few years ago. I see a very young looking boy, and many of my friends also tell me how young I was a few years ago (well it just means I aged a lot over the last few years). I consider this positively since I might look more important in a sense. :)

I am a positive person. This was why I left Japan to enrol an oversea University. I do not know why but I always want to think through everything by myself, very sincerely, for any decision making in my life. Probably this is one of the reasons for why I am a positive person.
