土肥学会2015 【Soil Science Society Annual Conference 2015】

土肥学会が終わりました。日本に帰ってきてからは毎年参加させてもらっている学会なので、参加すると一年が過ぎたなぁ、としみじみします。今回は学生二人が発表しました。というより、学生に発表させたら私自身、話をするネタが無くなってしまったというのが正直なところです。二人とも立派に発表してくれました。えらいえらい。 学会は京都大学で行われました。京大農学部の先生たちの話を聞いたり、交流することが出来たのも良かったです。一緒に共同研究がしたかったので、情報交換をしたのですが、すばらしい先生たちでした。尊敬します。私もビジョンを見失わずに研究をしなければ、と思いました。土壌学が世界のために何が出来るのか、ということについて考えさせられました。

学生たちは（というか私も）各々、自由時間に京都の街に繰り出して楽しんだようで何よりです。私もたくさんの人たちを学生に紹介出来たので、特に博士を目指す子たちは今後のためにもいいコネクションづくりが出来たのではないでしょうか。

The annual conference for the Soil Science Society has finished. I attend the conference every year since I returned to Japan but time flies so fast! Two of my students presented their research results this year. In fact, I had nothing to talk if I let these two talk about their research so I did not have any specific role in the conference this year. Well done my students.

The conference was held at Kyoto University. I enjoyed getting to know Professors at Kyoto University. They are so wonderful and respectful. Meetings with them motivated me to keep on researching and particularly I thought about what soil science could do to make the world better.

My students (and I) enjoyed some sightseeing the city too. I also managed to introduce my boys to many scientists so it was good, particularly for those who are aiming to progress towards PhD.
