食資源学院セミナー【Seminar towards a new graduate school】

先日、食資源学院セミナーが行われました。このセミナーでは、海外経験のある若い先生たちが学生やスタッフの前でセミナーをしました。もちろん私も話しましたが、写真では、イギリスに居た経験のある先生が話しています。大学院の制度は、ヨーロッパとアメリカ、オセアニアでもだいぶ違って面白いですね。私はニュージーランドについて説明しましたが、私のいた大学も制度がどんどん変わっていますし、それは他の国でも同じみたいです。こうやって時代と共に柔軟に変化していけるかが、高い教育レベルを維持できるコツなのかもしれません。柔軟性という意味では、日本の大学は相当がんばらなければいけない部分も多いと感じました。

I organized seminars other day, for students and staff, by young lecturers who have some experiences in overseas. Of course I talked too but on the photo, a lecturer who used to be at UK was speaking. There are quite bit of differences among Universities in Europe, U.S.A and Oceania, which is very interesting. I talked about Lincoln University, New Zealand but I have to say a lot has been changed since when I was studying there. I realized that Universities in Europe and U.S.A are also changing rapidly so the flexibility may be a keyword to maintain high quality education systems to match the needs by the changing world. Well, I have to say there are a lot to learn for Japanese Universities in terms of "flexibility".
