日仏エコロジー農業討論会【Japan-France Agroecology Debate】

先日、フランスの農業関係者と日本の農業関係者が集まって、「エコロジー農業」に関するディベートを行う会が、農学部で開催されました。この会はここ数年毎年開催されているらしいのですが、私は去年パネリストとして参加させていただいて、今年はディベート・ファシリテーターという役割で参加しました。 今回は日本人が4名、フランス人が2名パネリストとして参加していて、私の役割は、この方々みんながきちんと自分の意見を述べることが出来るように、また、議論が時間通りに進んでいくように流れを整えることでした。 結構でもこの役割は大変で、まず「エコロジー農業」って何？という部分が日本とフランスで異なっていて、そこの部分をきちんと共通して認識する必要がありました。また、パネリストの中には民間の人や農家さん、ジャーナリストやアナウンサー、科学者といろいろな人がいたため、すべての人に関連する話題をなるべく考えながら、かつ聴衆は一般の人、学生達なので、わかりやすく、ということを意識しました。 討論の詳細はいずれどこかにアップロードされるということなので（youtubeとか）、それはそれで紹介したいと思います。とにかく150名を超える人が参加していただいたということで、ただただ感謝です。 Our University organized an event, a debate between French and Japanese panelists on “Agroecology”. This event has been organized every year, for a few years and I participated in the event as a panelist last year. My role for this year was the debate facilitator. There were 4 Japanese and 2 French panelists and I worked hard to make sure everyone were comfortable and could freely say their opinions. Also, I had to make sure the debate goes in time.

It was not that easy because first of all, the term “Agroecology” is not that familiar to Japanese panelists. I had to make sure we were talking based on the same subject. Also, panelists consisted of farmers, journalists, scientists and so on and the listeners were normal people and students. Thus, I did my best not to use scientific terms and to explain unfamiliar words for the listeners.

I was told that the debate will be uploaded on the web sooner or later so I will introduce that again. I would like to thank all the participants and it was great since more than 150 people attended the event.
