龍谷大へ【To Ryukoku University】

忙しい毎日なのですが、合間を縫って、龍谷大に行ってきました。龍谷大は京都にもキャンパスがありますが、用があったのは瀬田キャンパス。滋賀県です。ここの先生と、私と、修士課程の学生で共同研究をしているんです。もちろんメールや電話でも相談は出来ますが、会って、いろんな議論をすることは、質の高い研究をするためには不可欠です。そんなわけで、龍谷大の先生と会議をしたわけです。

そして、龍谷大の先生は実は着任したばかり。なぜなら、龍谷大は農学部が今年から設立されたからです。そこの新しい先生になった方なんです。新しいビルの匂いをかぎながら、きれいなオフィスで打ち合わせをすることが出来ました。いい研究をしよう、という気にいっそうなりました。

また、新しく設立された学部の新入生ともお話してきました。特に修士課程になったばかりの私の学生の経験などに興味があったようですが、学科一年生なのにもう大学院のことを考えているなんて、、、意識が高いです。すばらしい。

Busy days are continuing but I and one of my students visited Ryukoku University. The University has a campus at Kyoto but we visited another campus at Shiga prefecture. We have a colleague there and we had a very good discussion. Of course we could communicate via emails and phones but meeting each other is often the best way to communicate each other.

Our colleague, she has just started her position at Ryukoku University because it has just started the faculty of agriculture. We smelt the new building and had a meeting in a beautiful office. Well, these facts motivated us to do high quality research!

We also had a chance to meet new Agricultural students and they were particularly interested in the experience of my student (master's course). They were all 1st year students and were already interested in the graduate courses... what a motivation!
